Being a leader here will grow your skill set quickly as our program gives both students and staff opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the outdoors in a hands-on environment.

Being in operation during the school year, Monday through Friday, we are privileged to teach 5th & 6th-grade students of varying backgrounds visiting from all over Southern California.

Staff members lead hikes, teach science curriculum, and help students develop their self-confidence through various challenges, including archery, team building, a climbing wall, night hikes, and more.

We have a lot of fun conducting activities such as dance night, camp songs, skits, campfire stories, and games.

Activities

Beautiful Sunset from a mountain road

When students leave the city and technology to come to the mountains for a few days, our team witnesses growth in the students, which is a rewarding feeling. You will quickly notice our welcoming culture, and by the end of the season, you will have made life-long friends.

While most of our students come to our main site in Crestline, our mission includes running programs across California and even into Oregon. Traveling usually occurs on 1-4 week rotations, including housing and meals.

During time off, there are opportunities to explore not just the camps around you but also the parks, forests, beaches, and cities nearby.

Travel

Having weekends off allows our staff to explore all that California has to offer. One weekend you can walk across the lowest elevation point in the world in Death Valley, and the next see the largest trees in the world at Sequoia National Park.

Thousand Pines Camp, our main site, is located in the San Bernardino National Forest, providing unique views and trails to experience. Beaches from San Diego to Santa Barbara are all just a day trip away. If you’d like to go out with friends and see city life or visit the beach, LA is just a short drive down the mountain.

Staying in town can be fun as well as Crestline offers accessibility to welcoming coffee shops, lakes, trails, mom & pop shops, and restaurants. Staff love heading out and carpooling to the next adventure almost every weekend.
